A. Overview:
The SIC E8 and E9 drivers are not digitally signed, as they were developed for older operating systems (Windows XP/Vista). However, they can still be installed on Windows 10 or 11 by disabling driver signature enforcement during the installation process.
B. Steps to disable driver signature enforcement on Win10&11:
1. Click on “Windows“ button, then press and hold the “Shift“ key and click on keyboard and click on “Power setting –> Restart“.
2. Choose “Troubleshoot –> Advanced options –> Startup Settings“ and click the “Restart“ button.
3. When your computer restarts you will see a list of options : Press “F7“ or 7 key on keyboard to select Disable driver signature enforcement.
4. Computer will now restart.
C. Steps to installing e9/e8 driver in windows 10&11:
- After restarting, Open “Device manager“ you can see “E8 Marking system“ which will be under “Other Devices“, on that do right-click then choose “Update Driver Software“.
2. Click on “Browse my computer for driver software“
3. Choose the path of the Driver (Ex: software folder copied path e9-v1-2.000 —> Drivers), Then click on “Include Subfolders” checkbox and then click on “Next”.
4. In windows security pop-up click on “Install this driver anyway” .
Then installation starts and finish.
After closing the window you can see installed “E8 Marking System” under Universal Serial Bus Controllers but still “USB Serial Driver Port” not installed.
5. Right-click on “USB Serial Port” then choose “Update Driver Software”, as shown in the image.
6. Follow the same steps from 6 to 8, the completion of installing driver will finish with the below screen.
After closing the window you can see installed “E8 Marking System” under “Ports” with installed com port number.
Now the computer is ready to communicate with e9/e8 controller through the SIC Tools or Terminal software.
